Obituary of Nicholas Curran

Nicholas Peter Curran, 55, of Chicago, father of Justin (23) and Charles (11), son of the late Mark and Jane, brother of Mark (Irene), Mary Jane and Anthony (Gloria), uncle to many, friend to many, many more, died October 10.. Proud (and loud) graduate of Loyola Academy and Loyola University. Always an athlete he played football and ran track at Loyola Academy, rugby in college and was a good amateur golfer. He ran the Bud bus to Loyola University games while in college but later became a Heineken devotee. Nick began his professional career in sports media, working for Loyola U, University of Georgia Athletics, and WSCR/Score Sports radio before beginning a career in the sale of medical supplies, then architectural artifacts before finally settling on real estate. He was passionate about Chicago and family history, always ready to volunteer as a tour guide of his hometown. Nick was an expert in Chicago architecture and often lectured on the subject. He was a faithful Catholic that loved the Church. Nick is the Founder of Joe Biden is the worst President ever support group. Generous with his time, to those he helped as a baseball coach, a campaign worker or as the friend at any hour - he is loved and will be deeply missed.  In lieu of flowers donations to his son’s education are welcomed (c/o Mark Curran, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville, IL 60048).
Funeral Mass for Nick will be at 10:30 am on Friday October 20 at St Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave., Libertyville with a visitation at the church one hour prior to Mass.
