Obituary of Edmund J. Bochnia

Edmund J. ‘Duke’ Bochnia, of Libertyville, passed away peacefully November 12, 2023 at the age of 93.

He is the son of Antoni Bochnia and Mary nee Bulinski Bochnia. Survived by sister Joan (Kenneth) Carpenter and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Duke was an usher for many years at Hedwig’s Catholic Church and a longtime resident of Logan Square in Chicago. He was a Sergeant in the 8th US Army in the Korean War and retired from Sears Terminal Freight. He enjoyed volunteering at the Chicago Food Bank. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Funeral Mass for Duke will take place Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 10am with a Visitation at 9:15am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Avenue, Libertyville, IL, 60048. Interment to follow at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, 6800 North Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, IL 60714.

In lieu of flowers, donations made, in memory of Duke, to the American Diabetes Association, diabetes.org, would be greatly appreciated.
