Obituary of Oscar S Giron, MD
Dr. Oscar S. Giron, 82, of Mundelein, IL, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in the Philippines, he achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a medical doctor at the remarkable age of 18. At 23, he immigrated to the United States to embark on his internship and residency journey. Dr. Giron dedicated nearly 60 years to the compassionate care of his patients, running a successful private practice in Waukegan and Grayslake. He met his beloved wife while working in Grant Hospital in Chicago, and their bond was inseparable. She supported his practice first as an office manager, and then later as a registered nurse. A man of great intellect, Dr. Giron found joy in reading and researching various topics, from the intricate details of different Porsche models to the latest trends in golf. He was a spiritual soul and seeker, deeply involved in meditation as both a teacher and student of the Science of Spirituality, leaving a profound impact on those around him. Dr. Giron had a special affection for his African Grey bird, Charlie, who could often be heard repeating his common sayings. He embraced life fully and shared his wisdom generously, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Dr. Oscar S. Giron will be dearly missed.
Oscar is survived by his wife Theresa of over 56 years; his children Steven, Renée, Paul (Lynda); his grandson Oliver; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is joined in heaven with his parents and his siblings.
