Obituary of Marion Gammon

Marion L. Gammon (nee Schildgen) faded into eternal life to join her best friend and husband, Butch, on November 14, 2013. A long-term resident of Lake County, she leaves behind her lovely daughters: Deb Gammon (Lou Gnadt), Wendy (Gene) Gabry, Sandy (Bob) Kliver and Kim Gammon; six grandchildren: Mike, Dave, Beth, Brian, Carrie and Kristina; and nieces and nephews: Greg, Ken, Gerry, David, Randy, Carl, Valerie, Barb, Rick and Jack. Marion was known for her love of song and dance, even writing and recording a record in her youth. For the past decade, she pleasantly lived life with Alzheimer's. Marion was a pioneer in her day, working outside of the home. First at Culligan's where she met Butch after the war, then as a bookkeeper in her sister's limo business and ending her work career at Berry Tire as the bookkeeper. She instilled in her daughters a strong sense of self and supported them every day of their lives. Visitation will be from 3-7p.m. on Sunday November 17, at McMurrough Funeral Chapel 101 Park Place Libertyville IL (Rt 176, one block East of Milwaukee Ave). We will celebrate her life with a funeral mass at St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church, 236 US 45 Indian Creek, IL at 10 a.m., on Monday November 18.
