Obituary of Shair M. Noor

Shair M. Noor, 94, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 1, 2024. He was born on July 4, 1930 in Afghanistan to Gul Pary and Nur Mohmmed Noor.

Shair is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara, children: Kim Noor (Todd) Berg, Shelly (Dave) Saletta, and Larry (Sophie) Noor; his grandchildren: Abby, Jacob, Jack, Trent, Kyra, and Nora; his brother, Osman (Mary) Noor; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters: Salima Gardezi and Bibigul Ishaqzai and brothers: Omar Noor and Siddiq Noor.

Shair graduated from The University of Illinois with an advanced degree in electrical engineering and had a successful career as Chief Electrical Engineer at Abell-Howe for over 40 years. Shair had a passion for gardening and photography but loved nothing more than his family.

A celebration of life and open house for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 1:00 to 5:00pm at The Birchstone, 200 Barclay Blvd, Lincolnshire, IL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org) in Shair M. Noor’s memory.

Shair will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He will be remembered for his love of his sweetheart, Barbara and all of his family, his kindness, gentleness and being the consummate gentleman (and his fabulous hair!)
