From when you first got in a wheelchair and we all wanted to take turns riding it around at the Osel's house to playing with American girl dolls and doing crafts with Maddie and I, to seeing Taylor Swift and us all writing #13 on our hands, to making bracelets to trade before the concert, and waving our hands up in the air at the concert screaming love story. You will always have a place in my heart as the sweet and beautiful women you were and I will forever remember you Katie and the true legacy you left behind as the courageous, Taylor Swift loving, and inspirational women you were.

I would like to share a memory about Kate when she was so young, I think about 3 or 4. She was playing in the basement with her toys, practicing her spelling. I picked out a xylophone, she not only named it, she spelled it. I was so impressed.
Another memory I have of her was again when she was younger around 5-7. It was her Birthday and I wanted to get her a gift. I didn’t know what she was interested in, so I winged it and bought her a My Pony toy. When she opened it, her eyes lit up and she yelled out a phrase that Patty used to say when she was excited. ( I forgot it). Patty said that My Pony was her favorite. It made me happy that i got it right. Kate will be missed. She had a beautiful soul which has now joined God in Heaven.

I knew Kate since when we met in kindergarten, and throughout the years we were part of many activities together including musical theater, class in school, and religious education. There are many things I remember about Kate, although we were not the closest friends, she was always very inspiring to me. Her positivity radiated and attracted many friends. Not only was she resilient but she was kind. I remember every Sunday in religious ed. we were eager to get to ride with Kate in her super cool elevator and then all get to play in her awesome basement at the end of the class. She was so generous and always had a fun time.
Nearing graduation, although we hadn't spoken in a while, when I saw Kate was starting at NYU in the fall I felt so proud and happy for her. I randomly texted her, congratulating her. We had a short conversation, and I am so glad we did. The most important thing is that she seemed genuinely happy. Kate's story is an inspiration and I am one of the many lucky people to have gotten to know her.

Kate was truly one of the kindest and welcoming souls I have ever known. Although we grew apart in high school, I still remember being invited over for her birthday party (way back in 2020) and the warmth and hospitality that followed has been unmatched. Even as recent as our senior year, I remember feeling relieved seeing Kate in our macro class as the one familiar face in the room. She even inspired me to go back revisit Stranger Things after I was too scared to watch in middle school.
All this to say that Kate will be missed, but will never be forgotten. She lives on in those she's impacted-whether intentional or not. Dear Patty and Laura, may you find peace just as I know Kate has.

After seeing SIX The Musical, the first person I texted was Kate. I remember talking to her for hours about the show and sharing my favorite moments with her. She listened and shared her favorite moments in all the songs with me. I will never forget sitting in Mr.Rogers’ HUSH class with her and sharing headphones while listening to music and giggling onstage during LHS Crew. She was a light in my life. I don’t have many photos with her, but I have many memories, which I think are worth more than any photo.

I worked with Kate every day during her 3 years at Highland. I started out as merely her helper and we grew into friends. She was mature, funny, inquisitive and loving. We talked about everything from politics to fashion, oh and schoolwork. We shared a love of animals, and she had a special fondness for hedgehogs.
I am heartbroken at her passing. She overcame so many obstacles and was on her way! I wanted her to an Oscar.
