Jean M. Nee (nee Sears), age 96, long time resident of Chicago, IL (Edison Park), passed away on December 2, 2024 at Sunrise of Buffalo Grove.
Beloved wife of the late John J. Nee, proud mother of Jack (Candy), Nancy Schneck, Jim (Kathy), Marianne, Richard (Mary), and Margaret LeMieux; grandmother of 16; great-grandmother of 19; loving sister of Sister Mary Sears, R.S.M. and Margie (the late Tom) Cramer; sister-in-law of the late Michael (Virginia), Mary, Eileen, and Dudley (Mary Margaret); dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Jean embodied the joy of living in everything she did and shared it enthusiastically with family and friends. She loved laughter, games, puppets, children, music, and being in nature. Her greatest joy, however, was her family.
There will be a celebration of Jean’s life on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at St. Juliana Church, 7201 N. Oketo, Chicago, IL. The visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by mass at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Special Olympics or Planned Parenthood.
