Obituary of Patricia Griffin

Patricia Griffin (nee Hofer), 96, a longtime resident of Libertyville, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024. Born in Chicago to Harry and Carolyn Winchell Hofer, Pat was a graduate of Notre Dame High School.  She met the love of her life, Gerald, while working at Illinois Bell.  A talented artist who studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Pat used her skills to create beautiful, custom birthday and Christmas cards for her family throughout the years.  She cherished her children, seeing the best in each of them, and often said her children were her best friends.

Pat is survived by her children Deborah Griffin, Deanna Ravenscraft, Donna (John) Griffin Palizza, David Griffin, Daniel Griffin (Robin Johnson), Dorthea (Paul) Kompare; grandchildren Amanda and Megan, Jason, Lance, and Nathan, Rebecca, Emma and Sean, Phillip and Matthew, Madeline, Jack and Patrick; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Charles (Terry) Hofer and Charlene (David) Waden. She is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 65 years, Gerald; her parents and siblings Margaret Paus and Joan Hansen.

Visitation for Pat will held on Dec 14 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville, where there will be a service at 12 noon. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery, Libertyville. Funeral info (847) 362-2626
