Jeffrey R. Chadwick
Dec. 23, 1969 - Dec. 23, 2024
Jeffrey R. Chadwick, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024, after a courageous three-year battle with colon cancer. Throughout his life, Jeff displayed a quiet excellence in everything he did. Whatever he did, Jeff approached every task with diligence and care. He never sought awards or accolades, his joy came from simply doing a good job and knowing he had given his best.
Jeff is preceded in death by his father, John Chadwick. He is survived by his loving wife, Sybil Chadwick, and their two sons, Jack and Charles, who were the center of his world, beloved mother, Marsha Chadwick, and his dear brother, Jim Chadwick. A proud and supportive father, Jeff could often be found cheering on his boys at basketball and baseball games or coaching their Little League teams.
A true pillar of the community, Jeff’s impact extended far beyond his family. He was a friend to all, and he had a knack for putting people at ease and connecting with them. As a coach for many years in Libertyville Little League, he instilled in countless young players the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance. He had a special way of connecting with kids, offering them not just guidance on the field, but lessons that would serve them in life. His calm, cool demeanor and reassuring presence made him an exceptional role model. He had a unique ability to teach with patience and clarity, always keeping the bigger picture in mind - helping the kids not just become better athletes, but better people.
Jeff’s professional life was equally inspiring, as he dedicated almost 30 years to Walgreens before choosing to retire and spend the last year and a half focused on his greatest joys, his family, and making memories with his boys. Jeff was a man of many passions, from hitting the golf course or driving range to sharing his love of the sport with his sons. His skill on the course was matched only by his calm, unflappable nature. He was an incredible uncle, brother, and son, and a cherished nephew and friend to many. Those who knew him admired his humility, wisdom, humor, and the unwavering love he gave so freely.
Jeff’s strength, both physical and emotional, was evident throughout his battle with cancer. Even in the face of adversity, he remained steadfast and optimistic, drawing strength from his family, friends, and community. His calm, reassuring presence provided comfort to those around him, and his love for his family was unwavering. He continued to show up for his boys, attending their sporting events and activities, always making sure they knew how proud he was of them.
Jeff’s quiet strength, his dedication to doing things well, and his profound impact on the lives of others will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide all who had the privilege of knowing him. To know Jeff Chadwick was to love him. It just doesn’t get any better than Jeff, and his impact on all of us will be felt forever.
