Obituary of Wojciech Walus

Please share a memory of Wojciech to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Wojciech Walus, 55, of Buffalo Grove, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025. Born in Poland to Eugeniusz and Slawomira Walus, Wojciech immigrated to the United States at the age of 19, embracing Chicago as his new home. A driven entrepreneur, Wojciech pursued the American Dream by founding Max Floor Inc., where he showcased his skills as a master floor builder. He later discovered a passion for the open road and the freedom of long-haul truck driving. When not behind the wheel of his semi-truck, Wojciech could be found indulging his love for motorcycles, often embarking on cross-country adventures with loved ones.

Whether skiing out West or engaging in lighthearted antics, he had a knack for finding joy in life. His zest for life allowed him to easily forge friendships wherever he went. Wojciech had a passion for heavy metal music, with Iron Maiden and Metallica concerts among his favorites. He cherished recent travels with his life partner Anna, exploring Colorado, Tennessee, Portugal, returning to his native Poland, and his favorite place Mackinac Island taking bike rides along the shore. He loved the camaraderie of camping trips with friends old and new.  He approached life with the enthusiasm of a "big kid," finding joy in his semi-truck and his other "toys." Wojciech also had a passion for photography, capturing memories wherever his journey led him.

Though he left Poland as a young man, Wojciech remained deeply connected to his roots, staying informed about current events and Polish politics. A skilled handyman, he could fix anything and was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. His talents extended to woodworking, and he found satisfaction in creating with his hands. Wojciech also had a gift for dog training and shared a special bond with his dogs. Wojciech was a multi-faceted individual who approached life with passion, dedication, and a playful spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Wojciech is survived by his children Luke and Philip (Paula); his life partner of 5 years Anna; and his siblings Jarek (Ela), Darek (Gosia) and Monika (Tomasz). He is preceded in death by his parents
