Jerome E. Quilty, 79, longtime resident of Libertyville and Grayslake, died peacefully at home on December 24, 2013. Jerry was an active member of St. Joseph Parish, Libertyville and Lake County Catholic Charities. He continued his service after his retirement from Commonwealth Edison. Jerry was the beloved husband of Joyce (Kristoffersen) Quilty for 52 years; loving father of Emmett (Liz), Terry (Sheila), Mary Quilty Piasecki, Maureen Wright, and Kathleen Quilty; cherished grandfather of Kristin (Kyle Kessel), Jessica, Erin, Elle, Colleen, Michaela, Seamus, Ryan, and Rachel; adoring great-grandfather of Reese, Ella, Colt, and Deni Kessel; and loving brother to Mary Ann Gavin, Joanne Weber, Martin Quilty, and the late Thomas, Harry, Margaret Messner, and Patrick. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 4- 8 pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville (Rt. 176, 1 Block East of Milwaukee Ave.) . Mass will be celebrated Monday, December 30 at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 East Maple Ave., Libertyville.
