Obituary of Gautam Shah

Gautam Shah of Vernon Hills passed away on Friday, January 10th peacefully at home.  He was 68. Born in Vadodara, Gujarat, India, he immigrated to the United States to pursue his education.  

Gautam loved living life to its fullest and planning adventures around the world with his best friend and wife of 43 years, Anita.  His enthusiasm for life, great care for others, and delightfully cheesy “dad jokes” made him beloved by all those around him, but especially his children and grandchildren. His warmth, humor, and drive survive through them. An accomplished scientist and executive, Gautam brought the same passion to his work.

Preceded in death by his father Nanubhai Shah; mother Vasuben Shah; and two sisters Pankaj Shah and Shoba Sheth. He is survived by his wife Anita Shah; daughter Gauri (Matthew) Brown of Illinois; son Ankur (Aftyn) Shah of Illinois; sisters Panna Pithadia of Texas and Gira Patel of California; and his five treasured grandchildren, Asha, Sahil, Ravi, Samir, and Vikram.\
