Obituary of Christopher DeVilla Lecaroz

Christopher DeVilla Lecaroz, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Vernon Hills on January 16, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born in the Philippines, Chris immigrated to the US in 1971, built a successful finance career, and proudly served in the Army for over 20 years, including a deployment to Iraq. Chris was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He is survived by Ressie, his wife of 42 years; his children Jen (Jim), Phil (Anne), and Mel (Liz); grandchildren Oliver and Maia; and siblings Irene, Ditas, and Paul. He was preceded in death by his parents Vincente and Patria, and siblings Benedicto, Celestino, Menchu, and Marinelo.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 21st, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 22nd, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church, 236 US Hwy 45, Indian Creek, IL 60061. Interment at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
