Obituary of Shirley Gienko

Shirley A. Gienko (nee Andrews) 82 of Libertyville passed away Feb 14 at Advocate Condell. She and her late husband Leonard were the owner operators of Genko Drug Store of Libertyville. Shirley was a proficient golfer and was a member of the Libertyville Woman's League. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish were she was a coordinator of the funeral lunch program. For 20 years she had worked at the Lincolnshire Marriott theater. She was the devoted wife of the late Leonard; the loving mother of Patti Buchert,Carolyn Konigseder, and Michael Gienko; the proud grandmother of Taylor and Alex; and the dearest sister of Julius (Mary) Andrews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday March 1 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville where her family will receive friends from 9:30 until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Advocate Hospice, 365 Surryse Rd, Ste 120, Lake Zurich IL 60047 or Cancer Research Institute, www.cancerresearch.org would be greatly appreciated.
