Ethel Payne, RN, 89, of Wheeling passed away Sunday Aug 24, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Daviess Kentucky and had been an area resident for the 43 years. Ms. Payne had retired from Public Health Services where she helped establish cardiac care centers across the United States. Ethel was a member of St. Raymond Parish, Mt. Prospect, and was an accomplished bridge player and world traveler.
Local survivors include her niece Alice (Mike) Novak and her grandnephews Joseph, Michael and Erik Novak.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00am Sat Aug. 30 at Immaculate Catholic Church, Owensboro, KY where there will be a visitation from 9-10:30 am. Interment St. Aplhonsus Cemetery, St. Joseph, KY. If desired memorial donations may be made to the “Scholarship Fund for St. Raymond’s School” 301 S. Ioka Ave, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056 would be greatly appreciated.
