Obituary of Stanley E. Bolton

Stanley Edward “Bud” Bolton, age 93, passed away March 11, 2017 at the Warren Barr Nursing Home in Lincolnshire, Illinois. He was born on May 14, 1923 and a lifelong resident of Danville, Illinois. He was an Army infantry veteran of World War II and retired from the C&EI railroad as a switchman. A member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus, he also volunteered time at the Vermilion County Nursing Home and delivered Meals on Wheels for several years. He was also an active member of Holy Family Parish where he was on the Stewardship Committee and led various activities to raise money for the church. He is survived by his three children, Dan (Linda) Bolton of Danville, IL; Sue (Pat) O’Neil of Bonita Springs, FL. and John Bolton of Fort Lauderdale, FL; four grandchildren, Scott (Crystal) O’Neil of Cape Coral, FL; Stacie (Jeff) Nevins of Libertyville, IL; Brian Bolton of Chicago, Doug (Katie) Bolton of Western Springs, IL ; and seven great-grandchildren: Jack, Caden and Ruby Nevins; Becca, Pat and James Bolton and Scarlett O’Neil. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and his wife of 63 years, Mary Ellen (Shouse) Bolton. Visitation will be at Holy Family Parish in Danville at 10:00 A.M. on Friday March 17th followed by a memorial Mass at 11:00 A.M. Graveside services will be held at Resurrection Cemetery following the memorial Mass.
