Obituary of Casimir P. Trelka

Casimir P Trelka Jr. DDS, US Navy, 88, of Libertyville, passed away April 8, 2017. Casimir enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserve in 1948, and was commissioned as an Ensign in 1951 upon beginning dental school at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He then served on active duty as a lieutenant between 1955, and 1957. After his service Casimir then operated his own Dental practice in Highwood for 55 years. His passion outside of work was flying where he was a private pilot for 45 years. He also loved the outdoors and working with his hands, either tending to his property, building additions on to his house or repairing family cars. He was a long time member of the Lake County and Illinois Farm Bureau, and also of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Casimir is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Geraldine F (nee Corcoran); loving children Timothy C., Mark J. (Marti) and Carolyn M. (Robert Rojas) Trelka-Rojas; adoring grandchildren Alexis R. and Raymond C. Trelka and Joseph R., Christian T., Nicholas R. and Cassandra R. Rojas; and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his cherished sister Sandra (the late David) Sussman. Funeral Mass will be held 10am Saturday April 22nd at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave., Libertyville where there will be a visitation 45 minutes prior to Mass. Private interment Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 230 W Monroe St # 200, Chicago, IL 60606 would be greatly appreciated.
