Obituary of Lorraine Loefer

Lorraine Loefer of Prairie View Lorraine Loefer (nee Blocks), 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Lorraine was born Oct. 26, 1931, in Vernon Township and was a life long resident. She was a member of St. Mary of Vernon Parish, was an avid sports fan and was an accomplished card player. Prior to her retirement she had been employed by Charles Fiore Nursery of Prairie View for more than 50 years. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Christine (Edward) Walters and Theresa (Tyrone) Crews; was the proud grandmother of Cara (John) Moellenhoff, Brad Walters and Lisa (Rick) Walker; and the devoted great-grandmother of Jay Lock, Juli Moellenhoff and Stella Moellenhoff. Lorraine was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Herold. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church, 236 Hwy 45, Indian Creek, IL. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Buffalo Grove. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 1, from 4 to 8 p.m., at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, Ltd., 101 Park Place (Route 176, one block east of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville, and Saturday morning at St. Mary's Church, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
