Obituary of Joan Nancy Mulligan

Joan "Joanie" Nancy Mulligan, nee Neuwirth, 82, of Mundelein, passed away Jan. 10, 2018, peacefully at home with her husband by her side. Joanie was raised on the north side of Chicago, she was a graduate of Amundsen High School and attended Lake Forest College. After enjoying a short career in modeling, Joanie worked for many years at Technical Petroleum in Chicago.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years Patrick “Buddy”, her children Karen (Jeffrey) Soprani & Michael (Carrie) Mulligan, her grandchildren Lauren (Matthew) Peterson and Paul (Stephanie) Soprani and her great-grandchildren Emma Rose Peterson and Brayden Patrick Soprani along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Stephen and Adeline Neuwirth, her sisters-in-law and their husbands Mary (Charles “Bud”) Shumaker, Catherine (Jesse) Moseley and Nancy Mulligan.

She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and so many lifelong friends with all her heart, but her heart will always belong forever to her Buddy.
