Obituary of Frank M. Loos
Frank M. Loos, 94, of Libertyville, died peacefully at home on January 27, 2018. Frank met his wife Mary in England while he was serving in the Air Force during WW II. After the war, they returned to England with their daughter Carol, where Frank earned a doctorate at the University of London. He earned a professorship at Northeastern Illinois University, from where he retired after a long career as a teacher and administrator.
A man of many interests, hobbies Frank pursued during his life included designing and building a solar home, authoring a book on statistics, painting, wood working, and gardening.
Frank is survived by his daughter Valerie Loos (Mark Anawis), grandchildren Lara Askill (Eric Burgess) and Kami (Mike) Nitzel, and great-grandchildren Zachary and Jacob Nitzel, and Alida Askill. Frank is preceded in death by his wife Mary of 65 years and daughter Carol Askill.
