Obituary of Elizabeth A. O'Connor
Elizabeth A. “Betty” O’Connor passed away Thursday August 2, 2018 at Willows of Arbor Lakes Senior Living in Maple Grove, MN after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Betty was born August 28, 1934 in Waukegan, IL to Edward and Louise Daggett. Betty grew up in Wauconda and graduated from Libertyville High School after the family relocated there in her senior year. In August 1959 she was united in marriage to Donald O’Connor at St. Joseph Church in Libertyville, IL. Don was enlisted in the Navy and they raised her sons in several communities along the East Coast, including Key West, FL and Tiverton, RI. In 1968 after Don had retired from service, they settled in Libertyville.
Betty loved children and for many years enjoyed caring for children in her home. She also worked for OptiStyle and Medline. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life.
Betty is survived by her sons and their families, Patrick and Mary Ellen of West Bend, WI; Michael and Holly, and their children Liam, Ellie, Maeve, and Cait of Maple Grove, MN; and Kevin and Bridget and their son Mason of Round Lake Beach; her sister-in-law Kathleen Krause of Columbus, OH; by her nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her parents-in-law Charles and Germiane O’Connor, her brother-in-law Joe (Genevieve) O’Connor and brother-in-law Leo Krause.
Visitation will be Friday August 10th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place (Rt 176, 1 Blk East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Saturday August 11th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Private interment Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
