Obituary of Doris E Garvin
Doris E. Garvin, 93, of Libertyville, passed away Oct. 1, 2018 in Libertyville.
Doris was born in Burlington, WI and lived most of her adult life in Libertyville. She had served in food service in areas including Joe's Fireside, Joe's Chuck Wagon, Tom & Jerry’s and the Cabriolet restaurants. Doris had remained a waitress until the age of 81. She was an avid bowler & dancer and was a proud fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Bears. Doris was a dedicated member of TOPS and will be remembered for her thousands of finely decorated Christmas Cookies. She had been a member of St. John's Lutheran Church for almost 60 years and had enjoyed wintering in Florida.
She is survived by her daughter Becky Fredregill, her sons Mark and John (Sue); her grandchildren Amy Fredregill (Barry Taylor), Jack Fredregill, Michael (Erica) Fredregill, Tim Fredregill (Ashlee Goetz), John Parke Garvin, Tatum Garvin and Tanner Garvin; her great-granddaughter Charlie Fredregill and her long time Caregiver and friend Martha Duran.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, Deputy chief of the Libertyville Fire District who with the help of Dr. Ronald Klimaitis founded the pilot paramedic unit for Condell Hospital in 1970. She was also preceded by her grandson Kurt Garvin.
Funeral services will be 10AM Sat. Oct. 6 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 501 W. Park Ave., Libertyville. Interment Ascension Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday Oct. 5 from 6-8 PM at McMurrough Funeral Chapel 101 Park Place Libertyville and Sat. from 9:30 -10:00 am at St. Johns.
