Obituary of Lowell A Try
Lowell A. Try, 94, of Vernon Hills, formerly of Saddle Brook Farms and Libertyville, passed away Dec. 17, 2018. Lowell was born in Kalamazoo, MI and had retired from the US Navy as a non-commissioned officer after 20 years of service. During WW II he received the Navy Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the WW II Victory Medal, the Philippine Campaign Medal and the United Nations Korean service medal.
Upon retirement from active duty, he worked for the Naval P.W.C. of Great Lakes, IL for 18 years. Lowell was an active member of the Fleet Reserve Assn. Branch 53.
Lowell is survived by his children Patricia (Jack) Brown, Janet (the late Ted) Lamparski, Tom (Donna) Try, Dorothy (Richard) Schrems, Susan (Peter) Fischer; along with 13 grandchildren. Lowell war preceded in death by his two wives Stella and Virginia.
