John Edward Adams, Jr., 83, of Huntley IL passed away on March 7th, 2020 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates after a long period of declining health. John was born on December 20, 1939 at St Therese Hospital in Waukegan to the late John E. Adams, Sr. and Rose Kalisnig Adams. He lived in Libertyville much of his life and was employed with Great Lakes Naval Base Public Works from a young age to retirement where throughout the years, he received numerous awards and high rated performance reviews. He was an avid Cubs fan, loved his Rottweilers Hans and Ziggy, and enjoyed being a Grandpa to his Grandchildren. John was Preceded in Death by his Mother Rose and his Father John as well as three sisters, Elizabeth Jane Adams Mason, Mary Ann Adams, and Rose Marie Adams. Survivors include his wife Katherine Adams, his two daughters Nicole Adams and Keeley Adams and her Husband David Sowatsky. Grandchildren Caden Adams Cowsert and Kelsey Adams Cowsert, Kristen Sowatsky and Kyle Sowatsky. Surviving siblings William Adams and Wife Karen, Donald Adams and Wife Laila, Sandra Daley and Husband Robert, Frank Adams, Don Mason, JoAnn Sokal (Sister-in-law) and her Husband Thomas. and many Nieces and Nephews. Family will be receiving friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00PM on Thursday, March 12 with services following at McMurrough Funeral Chapel 101 Park Place, Libertyville.
