Obituary of Josephine Galante

Josephine "Jo" Galante (nee Malatia), 98 years old, entered peacefully into the fullness of eternal life June 18, 2013 at Condell Medical Center, Libertyville with her daughter by her side. Beloved wife for 57 years to the late Joseph A. Galante, dearest mom of the late Baby Galante and loyal son, Joel James Galante. Loving mom to her dear daughter and best friend, Marlene Louise Galante and proudest mom to her Son-In-Love, Steven Daniel Odes. Devoted daughter of the late Leonardo "Otto" and Anne Malatia (Emanuele). Fond sister of the late August Malatia and Marge Malatia. 19 year resident and good friend to many at Brookdale's Hawthorn Lakes Retirement Community of Vernon Hills, IL., and previously for 50 years in Niles, IL. where residents were charmed everyday by her warm smile, gentle spirit and kind words for all. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church, 236 Hwy 45, Indian Creek, IL. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Visitation will be Friday, June 21, from 4 to 8 p.m., at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, Ltd., 101 Park Place (Route 176, one block east of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville, and Saturday morning at St. Mary's Church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
