Obituary of Joan Marie Yopek

Joan Marie Yopek, nee St. Amant 91, passed peacefully on the morning of January 7, 2022. Her husband, Edward was at home with her.

She was preceded in death by her sister Bernadette Lablanc and brothers Donald, William, Robert, and Jack St.Amant.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews in Michigan, Florida and California. Ed and Joan were delighted to have 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Joan grew up in Rouge River, MI, attended nursing school. After graduation, she worked at hospitals, in Evanston, Illinois and Dearborn, Michigan. Joan and Edward were married in June of 1978. Together they enjoyed travel, golf, Dixieland jazz, as well as many projects and family. Joan will be missed for her smile, her sense of humor and as a compassionate, loving person, devoted to her family.

Service arrangements have been made with McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville, for Friday January 14 at 11:30am with a visitation prior starting at 10am. Also, a larger memorial service is planned for June, in Holly Michigan, at Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu flowers, memorials made to Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church, 9601 Hubbard Street, Livonia MI 48150 would be greatly appreciated. Funeral info (847) 362-2626.
