Obituary of Richard J. Mattes

Richard J. Mattes, of Libertyville, IL., passed away on February 19^th, 2022, at the age of 40.

Beloved Husband of Aimee Mattes. Devoted Father of Julianna Jacqueline, Jacob Walter, and Emily Marion. Loving Son of Michael Mattes and Patricia Meyers. Dear Brother of Patrick (Deborah), Michelle, and Gage. Dear Uncle of Elizabeth and Gabrielle.

Richard is preceded in death by his grandparents; Walter and Connie Mattes, Luther and Mary Watson, and Richard and Mildred Biestek.

Richard was a graduate of Barrington High School and attended both Butler and Northeastern University. He had a larger-than-life personality and would do anything, not only for his family and friends, but anyone in need of help or advice.

Above all, Richard loved being with his immediate family. His wife and children were his focus and happiness. He loved his children fiercely, with the most playful, energetic, and loving care. He truly loved his family and friends unconditionally.

The Mattes Family are incredibly grateful to family, friends, and the Libertyville community for their support.

Visitation for Richard will take place Sunday, March 13^th, 2022, from 3PM-4PM with a 4PM Service at Grace Lutheran Church, 501 Valley Park Drive, Libertyville, IL, 60048.
