Obituary of Arvids Ertmanis
Please share a memory of Arvids to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. Arvids Ertmanis, 90, of Libertyville, passed away Thursday August 22 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in 1923 in Latvia and immigrated to the United States with his wife, son and Mother-in-law in 1950. Arvids settled in Milwaukee where he took up painting and decorating in order to support his family. His skills in decorating soon earned him a position with Gimbels department stores of Wisconsin where he was called upon to change the colors of the showrooms and show windows to reflect the change of seasons. Mr. Ertmanis had been a resident of Libertyville for the past 18 years.
He is survived by his loving sons Andrew (Theresa) Ertmanis and Victor (Kay) Ertmanis; he was the proud grandfather of Blake, Courtney and Lou and the devoted husband of the late Anna nee Kalaks.
Funeral services will be Saturday August 24 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Ascension Cemetery, 1920 West Buckley Road, Libertyville where his family will receive friends on hour prior to the service.
If desired, memorial donations to a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
