Obituary of James G. Krier
James G. Krier, age 66, of Grayslake, born July 8, 1956 passed away surrounded by his family on November 3, 2022. Devoted husband of Karen Krier nee Moriarty, loving father of Elizabeth Krier, Rebecca (William) Krier-Burris, and Jeanette (Russell) Krier-Johnson; dear grandfather of Audrey and Henry Burris, and awaited baby girl Johnson; beloved son of the late John and Ann Krier, brother of the late JoAnne (Andrew) Forrester and the late Jack Krier; brother-in-law to Mary Lou (Michael) Maloni and Donald Moriarty; and dear Uncle to many. Jim was a graduate from The Milwaukee School of Engineering with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He had 30 years of service as a Project Manager at Abbott Labs in Global Engineering Services, often times traveling to England, Ireland, Germany and San Francisco for business. He enjoyed cooking -especially barbecuing, spending time with friends, flying his radio control airplanes, traveling, and concerts at Ravinia. He loved listening to rhythm and blues artists such as Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Joe Bonamassa. Above all, Jim loved being surrounded by his family and being a grandpa. Visitation will be Friday November 11, 2022 from 3PM to 8PM, at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, IL. The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 9:30AM with a Visitation 1 hour prior at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee, IL. Interment held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the American Cancer Society and Willow House would be appreciated.
