Obituary of Catherine Joan Fichter

Catherine Joan "Kay" Fichter nee McShane, of Vernon Hills, IL, passed away November 29, 2022, at the age of 84.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Marilyn (Evan) Williamson nee McShane, James (Beth) McShane, Eileen (Rudy) Radasevich nee McShane, Celeste (Daniel) Olp nee McShane, and Jeffrey (Barbara) McShane, and many grand nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, Gregory Fichter, her parents Patrick and Catherine McShane nee Gilboy; and her brother James (Joan) E. McShane, and infant sister Marilyn McShane.

Catherine grew up in Chicago, IL. On November 13, 1978, she married her husband Gregory Fichter. Once retired, Catherine and Gregory spent most of their years in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a great storyteller, who enjoyed listening to music, and coloring. Above all, Catherine had a strong faith which was very important to her.

A Memorial Visitation will be held for Catherine from 9AM to 9:45AM December 10, 2022, at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, IL. Funeral Mass to follow 10AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Avenue, Libertyville, IL. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to FHSR, fhsr.org, or St. Joseph Food Pantry, 112 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville, IL 60048.
