Obituary of Lucille M. Grosko

Lucille M. Grosko, of Vernon Hills, IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep January 21, 2023, at the age of 96.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Steve J. Grosko Sr., and her son Stephen J. Grosko Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa A. Grosko, and her son, Michael A. Grosko.

Born in Chicago, Lucille had lived there most of her life. She was married to her husband of 35 years, Steve J. Grosko, who had passed in his early 60's. She was a widow for 35 years. Lucille dedicated her life to living in his memory. After retiring from bookkeeping from West Oak School, Lucille was a former volunteer for Lake Forest Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. Lucille had a strong Catholic faith, praying the rosary every night. She was Charter Member of the St. Mary of Vernon Parish. Lucille was well liked by her caretakers, who thought of her as a second mother. She will be dearly missed. 

Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday, January 25 and 26, from 4PM to 8PM, at McMurrough Chapel, 101 Park Pl., Libertyville, IL, 60048. Funeral Mass Friday, January 27 at 10AM at St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church, Route 45, Indian Creek. Interment Ascension Cemetery. For information, call (847) 362-2626.
