Obituary of Frank C. Bojniewicz Jr.

Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Frank C. Bojniewicz Jr. passed away August 20, 2024 of natural causes.  He was born May 17, 1967 in Waukegan, Illinois to Frank C. Sr. and Frances Bojniewicz (Bittner).

Frank was the youngest of 10 children and was doted on by his mother and 6 sisters, much to his chagrin at times. He possessed a fierce love of sports and started playing baseball in Waukegan alongside several of his nephews with his brother in-law Gary Bennett as his coach.  Frank’s family relocated to Gurnee, Illinois not long after his father’s death in 1977.   He attended Warren High School where he received many awards and excelled in football, baseball and wrestling. After graduating from Warren High School, he continued his education at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois where he continued to excel in both football and wrestling. Frank was voted team captain as a senior on the team that won College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship and advanced to the semifinals of NCAA Division III playoffs. He earned 7 varsity letters (4 in football and 3 in wrestling) while attending Augustana College.   He was enshrined into Augie’s “Tribe of Vikings” Hall of Fame along with the 1985 and 1986 National Championship Teams.   Upon graduation from Augustana, Frank continued to excel in his career. He held many positions in sales, operations and marketing at major corporations. Frank leveraged his hard work and business skills to establish innovative approaches for which he was recognized.

Frank’s love of sports continued throughout his life, he was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Blackhawk and both Chicago Baseball teams. However, his favorite team was the New York Yankees, which was also his father’s favorite team. Frank also enjoyed time coaching youth football in Libertyville and always looked forward to attending games.

Frank’s daughter, Alina, was his biggest joy and his best friend.  He was extremely proud of her and bragged to many about her love for  dance and competitions (POM’s) and especially her enrollment at University of Iowa focused on pre-med.

Frank is preceded in
