Obituary of Roxane E. Obenauf

ROXANE E. OBENAUF passed away peacefully on June 1, 2018 at home in Libertyville, Illinois. She was born in Waukegan, Illinois on October 18, 1932. She was a teacher for 42 years at Washington School in Mundelein, Illinois. Teaching was a great joy in her life. She held herself responsible for her role as a teacher to inspire each student to develop their abilities to prepare them for a bright future and to succeed in life. She also served in an administrative capacity in the Mundelein School District as President of the Mundelein Education Elementary Association. She earned her undergraduate degree from Lake Forest College and a graduate degree from La Verne College.

She leaves with gratitude those who loved her, knew her well and shared her life. She was an aunt to two nieces and one nephew; a grand aunt to four grandnieces and five grand nephews; and a great grandaunt to two great-grandnieces. She is survived by her brother Michael and her sister Ursula. She was a devoted wife to her late husband Paul.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 8th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, (Rt 176, 1 Blk East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville, Illinois.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 9th at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Avenue, Libertyville, Illinois. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Mundelein (Fremont Center), IL.
