Thought I'd share a few memories of my Dad..
Great sense of humour.. Loved a practical joke
Champion of those less fortunate
Fastidious with his documentation
Loved his nice cars
Very intelligent
Loving
Great provider
Complex.. and he liked it that way
Never sought to be like anybody else..
Typical Alpha personality - could make a decision easily
Would do anything for his clients and the companies that he represented
Was always thinking of the next business deal
Loved his golf with Mom and his friends and neighbours
Liked to look his best
Enjoyed the occasional cigar and a port whilst talking about business
Loved playing squash over the years and liked to be fit
Was a terrible cheat at sports..lol
"Old age and treachery always overcomes youth and skill".. He lived by that saying.. lol
Big fan of classical music, opera (loved Maria Callas) and jazz ( Loved Sarah Vaughn)
Bought me my first guitar after I promised I would pay attention at school..he knew better but bought it anyway..lol
Liked his time just with Mom
Cooked a fantastic full English breakfast with the classical music on LOUD
Could water-ski on one ski
Extremely competitive and driven
Loved a pork pie when he came over to the UK
Went walking with Mom and the various dogs we had at least once a day
Was living proof that SAT-NAVs CAN save marriages..lol
When things went wrong he would come to the front and find a way of working things out.. Was a great peacemaker.
So many fond memories of a wonderful Dad...
I will miss seeing him over here in the UK.. giving him a hug and having a laugh.
"The one thing predictable about you Dad is that you're unpredictable!"
He enjoyed that one..
Love you DAD!! xx

Malcolm and I met Bob and Sheila, Giles and Sarah in South Africa in 1974. We had arrived from England for a 2 year employment opportunity. Bob was Malcolm's boss.
Bob and Sheila welcomed us to their home and made us feel like family.
In April of 1976, I went into labor, without Bob and his amazing driving skills, I wouldn't have made it to the maternity home. I will be forever grateful that he came to check on me.
Bob was the happiest person I've ever known. A true gentleman and the best friend a person could ever have.
Bob will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Look out Heaven, you have an amazing angel with you.

I would like to share my deep respect for Bob and Sheila, lifelong friends, we were neighbours in Joburg in the late 1970. Bob gave me my first job, first pay check and allowed me to drive the company pickup truck home to Darren wood, not sure Sheila and my parents approved!
I remember coming over to the Manwaring home to use the swimming pool on countless weekends. Bob would be writing tender offers, a passionate businessperson with a fantastic sense of humour and unforgettable laugh and a signature that put a recent American President to shame.
In my first written job reference Bob wrote “Sean will make a good Engineer” I went on to own my own engineering business.
Bob I will miss you
Love
Sean

I have many great memories of Bob. Too many to list. Working with the Waste Tech team, and him, for so many years gave me much of the knowledge I use to this day. I think about many of those lessons often. Bob was a great man who loved life and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Shelia and the family. I cannot make the services, but wish I could be there, and will be in spirit.
All my thoughts and prayers,
Mitch Hameister

To the greatest couple that ever was in Libertyville, we will cherish all the wonderful days that Bob and Sheila would come and enjoy some leisure time at Anam Cara Cafe. Witnessing their love fills my heart with promise and joy. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with Sheila and her family.
