Obituary of Robert T Manwaring

Robert Manwaring, 85, of Libertyville, passed away peacefully May 28, 2021 after a courageous fight with Alzheimer’s.  Bob was born and raised in England and his career in wastewater treatment took him around the world with extended assignments in Nigeria and South Africa. He moved to the United States on July 4, 1976 and started his own business in wastewater treatment technology. Bob loved his work and retired when he was 78. He is remembered for his competitive spirit making sure things were done his way, his great sense of humor, his dynamite smile, his loving nature (especially his cherished playtime with his grandchildren). He loved taking walks with his dog, listening to classical music and playing golf with his wonderful friends.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Sheila of 61 years; his much loved children Giles and Sarah (Rick) Haffey; his cherished grandchildren Caitlin, Natalie, Grant, Ian and Alex, sister Diana and cousins Sandra and Robin. Bob is preceded in death by his parents William and Joyce Manwaring.

Visitation for Bob will be from 11:00AM – 1:00PM Saturday June 12^th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville with a service at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org would be greatly appreciated.
